ON MAY 3, 2007 DEPUTY DAVID BORUCHOWITZ WAS DISPATCHED TO A REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE AT AN UNDISCLOSED RESIDENCE.

THERE IT WAS REPORTED TO DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ THAT MIGUEL ORTEGA (AGE 19 OF PAHRUMP) AND A FIFTEEN (15) YEAR OLD JUVENILE MALE CONSPIRED TOGETHER AND APPROACHED A WITNESS IN A CRIMINAL TRIAL PENDING BEFORE THE PAHRUMP JUSTICE COURT.

BOTH SUSPECTS INTIMIDATED THE WITNESS IN AN EFFORT TO GET THE WITNESS TO CHANGE HER STORY WHEN SHE TESTIFIED IN COURT THE FOLLOWING DAY. BOTH ORTEGA AND THE JUVENILE WERE ARRESTED.

MIGUEL ORTEGA WAS BOOKED INTO NCSO DETENTION PENDING BAIL AND THE JUVENILE WAS TURNED OVER TO JUVENILE PROBATION FOR INTIMIDATING A WITNESS AND CONSPIRACY.

MIGUEL IS BEING HELD ON $15,000 BAIL.

ON MAY 3, 2007 DEPUTY DAVID BORUCHOWITZ RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A STRANGE ACTING MALE AT THE DOLLAR STORE ON DAHLIA.

UPON ARRIVING DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ SPOKE WITH WILLIAM BLYTHE (AGE 33 OF PAHRUMP). BLYTHE WAS ACTING BIZAREE AND EXHIBITED SIGNS OF EXTREME NARCOTIC USE. BLTHYE ADMITTED TO USING METHAMPHETAMINE, MARIJUANA, AND PRESCRIPTION PILLS.

BLYTHE WAS ARRESTED AND TRANSPORTED TO NYE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER.

DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ APPLIED FOR AND EXECUTED THE SEARCH WARRANT AT THE NYE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER WHERE BLYTHE WAS BOOKED ON THE CHARGES OF UNLAWFUL USE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (3 COUNTS).

BLYTHE IS BEING HELD ON $15,000 BAIL.

ON MAY 5, 2007 DEPUTY DAVID BORUCHOWITZ WAS TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND ON STATE ROUTE 160 AND OBSERVED A VEHICLE TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND AS WELL. DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ OBSERVED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED EXTREMELY ERRATICALLY.

DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ INITIATED A TRAFFIC STOP ON THE VEHICLE AND FOUND BOYD DARNELL (AGE 48, NOT A RESIDENT) TO BE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ MADE SEVERAL OBSERVATIONS THAT LED HIM TO BELIEVE DARNELL WAS INTOXICATED, AND DARNELL FAILED THE FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS HE WAS ADMINISTERED. AN OPEN CONTAINER OF VODKA WAS LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF DARNELL'S VEHICLE.

DURING A SEARCH OF DARNELL AFTER HIS ARREST A MARIJUANA PIPE WAS LOCATED IN HIS POCKET. DEPUTY BORUCHOWITZ SUMMONED THE ASSISTANCE OF NCSO DEPUTY ERIC MURPHY AND HIS K-9 PARTNER.

NCSO K-9 DEPUTY TOMMY PERFORMED A EXTERIOR VEHICLE SEARCH ON DARNELL'S VEHICLE AND INDICATED FOR THE PRESENCE OF NARCOTICS INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A MORE INTENSE CONSENSUAL SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE LOCATED A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA IN DARNELL'S SUITCASE IN THE VEHICLE.

DARNELL WAS ARRESTED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE NYE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER. DARNELL WAS BOOKED ON THE CHARGES OF DUI, DUI DRUGS, UNLAWFUL USE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, FAIL TO MAINTAIN LANE, POSSESSION OF NARCOTIC PARAPHERNALIA, POSSESSION OF UNDER AN OUNCE OF MARIJUNAN, AND OPEN CONTAINER.

HE IS BEING HELD ON $8,072 BAIL.
