From Nye County Sheriff's Office Community Service Announcements
The Sheriff’s Department accepted two new volunteers for Pahrump’s S.A.U. They are presently in training. Welcome aboard. The membership rises to 23. July 2005: One major highway in Pahrump became a night DUI check point in July. Other infractions were also being checked. Six auxiliary members along with some cadets spent the night assisting our Sheriff’s Deputies. From the Horses Mouth: Receiving a citation for any of the following Can add (1) demerit point to a drivers license. (1) Too many passengers on a motorcycle. (2) Failure to sound horn when required. (3) Failure to give an appropriate signal. (4) Driving through a funeral or procession. (5) Following within 500’ of a fire truck. (6) Driving on a sidewalk.
